Black Goddesses Gather
Black Goddesses Gather - A Rising Consciousness
Are you ready to delve into your identity? Are you ready to delve into a different identity? Remembering that there is considerable benefit in being open to learn about another's path.
This course looks at prominent Black Goddesses from around the world. It begins by calling Black Goddesses from Africa, the Caribbean and beyond, exploring their stories, attributes and energies - a deep process enquiry for Remi and one she looks forward to sharing.
Divine Power Across Continents
Across time, across continents, Black Goddesses have been worshipped as creators, warriors, healers and protectors - powerful forces of nature woven into the very fabric of life. Yemanjá / Yemoja, Oshun, Nana Buluku, Isis, Mami Wata, Oya, Asase Yaa, the Black Madonna and many others - these deities hold deep ancestral wisdom, speaking to the strength, resilience and divine power of Black women throughout history.
When Black Goddesses Gather
So what happens when they gather? What shifts when we invoke them together, not as distant mythologies, but as living forces rising within us and around us?
Restoring Spiritual Lineages
Through guided inquiry and visualisations, structural constellations, storytelling, ritual and ceremony, this Short begins to address the social and emotional strengthening made possible as Black women reclaim their divine identity, countering centuries of dehumanization, exclusion and objectification.
Many of these goddesses were separated from their devotees through colonization and slavery. Reconnecting with them restores the important potential of these spiritual lineages and energetic frameworks.
The Gifts of the Black Goddesses
-
Embodied Wholeness - These goddesses collectively represent all aspects of femininity, supporting Black women to embrace their full, complex humanity.
-
Collective Resilience - Drawing on these divine archetypes provides the emotional resource needed to navigate oppression and can create a deep foundation for community care.
-
Intergenerational Healing - Invoking these goddesses can support the healing of ancestral trauma and restore spiritual practices and technologies that supported communities for millennia.
A Rising Consciousness
The resurgence of Black Goddesses is not just spiritual - it is political, emotional and psychological. They are returning because we are remembering who we are, what we carry and what we are here to do. This Short is about tuning into this rising consciousness and walking forward with their strength in our bones, countering centuries of erasure of the Black feminine from many cultural and spiritual narratives.
All stand to benefit when we begin to understand the magnificence and power of this pantheon of goddesses.
